Love Actually is one of my most favorite movies EVER. (Do you get now
why I named this blog Marriage Actually?) It's the only movie I
bought in original DVD copy, and every year, I make it my own tradition
to watch it before Christmas approaches. The film may be overly
romanticized but hey, it works! The message is simple: Love actually...
is all around. True that, huh? I also believe that despite of the fact
that divorce is all around and legal separation is all around, marriage
actually is also all around!
However, in this day and age, getting married is filled with all
kinds of cynicism from people... yes, all around! Like they sort of
secretly wager on how many years a couple will last.
Hey, did you hear about Brad and Shane getting married last week? I betcha they will not even reach 2 years!
Eric and Sheila are hitched??? Oooooooh! Time to place your money on the table, people!

Talk
about pressure! Everybody's watching you. Everybody's trying to see how
far you will go. Everybody's watching how your life will turn around
after exchanging I do's. It is the way the cookie crumbles but I
personally do not want to succumb to such pressure. Instead, each day I
want to try to make the relationship work. It takes one day at a time as
the cliche goes. And I'm eager to find out how far that will take me. =)
